Death of Jewish Studies Program Supporter, Melvin Kutchin

The members of the Jewish Studies Program at Penn note with sadness the recent death of Melvin Kutchin. We remember Mel and Mitzi with affection and gratitude.

MELVIN KUTCHIN

Formerly of Lexington and Andover, on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at age 93. For 57 years the beloved husband of the late Maxine "Mitzi" (Lampert). Devoted father of Ed & Jill Kutchin, Susan & Bob Pellegrino, and Jim & Peri Kutchin. Loving grandfather of Michael and Adam Davidson, Zachary and Alexander Kutchin, and Julie Kutchin. Great-grandfather of Cora and Kenzie. Dear brother of the late Seena Cohen, and Renee Konwaler.

Melvin and Mitzi were long-time friends of the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Their fund, the Melvin and Maxine Kutchin Scholarship and Endowed Scholarship II, has supported, and continues to support, dozens of academic events each year.
