Tell Him That I: Poetry of Jews & Christians

Apr 25, 2014 at | Kelly Writers House

Come eat doughnuts, drink coffee, and talk about poetry, tradition and faith! I'm sitting at the KWH dining-room table this Friday morning with Rabbi Josh Bolton and Reverend Mike Chen, both of whom work extensively with students on campus, to read a few poems together and talk about our own and others' experiences of poetry, tradition, and faith.

Why do we make art? What particular usefulness does poetry have? How do we use poetry to think about, address, and wrestle with the text of the Bible, tradition, God, and the world?

It's going to a beautiful, funny, poignant morning. Please come talk with us Friday, April 25, 11:30am @ the Kelly Writers House.

The title of this event comes from Dan Pagis' "Written in Pencil in the Sealed Railway-Car."

This event is organized by undergraduate student, Allison Wattenbarger, as part of the Jewish Studies Program Bassini Internship Program.
