Financial Aid

For students in doctoral programs, Penn offers a variety of financial aid packages which are granted on the basis of academic promise. Most packages include tuition scholarships and generous stipends for living expenses, and often require some teaching and/or iniversity service. Most packages are awarded by the individual graduate groups. Already matriculated students are eligible to apply for stipends to enable them to travel in order to supplement their graduate studies or to conduct research.

Applicants interested in financial aid should be certain that their completed applications, including recommendations, transcripts, and test scores, reach the University by December 15. Serious applicants are especially encouraged to contact the pertinent graduate group and faculty members before the preceeding December.
