Lior Sternfeld, Assistant Professor of History and Jewish Studies, Penn State College of Liberal Arts.

His new book is Between Iran and Zion: Jewish Histories of Twentieth-Century Iran (Stanford University Press)

In the early 20th century, the Iranian Jewish communities were largely disenfranchised, marginalized and, impoverished. By the 1979 revolution, that situation was radically changed. In this talk, Dr. Sternfeld explores the history of Iranian Jewish society in a time of great upheaval and social change.
